Gordon Highlanders ¡Kilts!

As I have told you yesterday, today I will show you some Scottish photos.
Here you are the Gordon Highlanders, one centre unit and one flank unit. This is my latest painting work of my project. I know that everybody is scared when talking about painting kilts, mainly by the tartan design. The first thing to is looking for a good image of tartan to reproduce it, this is the one for the Gordon:

Some laminae for the uniform references:

Work! My method consists of using the aerograph to give the red base of the dress coats and the colour of the predominant line of kilt, in this case yellow initially. After that we take a fruit grid or a mosquito netting (size and form suitable), we mask the skirt with it (I hold it by hand raised) and reviewed the kilt with the aerograph with the base colour (blue in this case). With this, we have the initial squares formed and we would also have to repaint them and to fill them up with more colours. Thus we saved work, but caps and socks’ squares, we will have to do by hand raised.

Here you are the miniatures

I hope that you like them. Critics, please.
